Great regional park if you visit the Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert/Chandler area. Safe for solo travelers. Trails are well marked. I did the Noso trail, Merle, and Desert Hawk trail on Day 1 (spent a few hours enjoying scenery). Day 2 (AM) - Wind Cave Trail. Give yourself a few hours. Difficult trail, somewhat well marked, use GPS signal or apps. Well worth it! The chipmunks on cave are friendly too.

we loved Lost Dutchman State Park! I wish we would have had more time there. We just landed at Mesa and this was our first stop after grabbing some food so we could watch the sunset there. Staff was friendly and helpful, we stuck to the easy flat trails and explored. Loved getting to see so many different birds there and snapping pictures with my camera. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back some day!

Fun mountain bike trails with a few options and the easiest trail allows for hiking as well. It's only 3/4 of a mile but it has an 11% elevation gain and some nice views of the Superstition Mountains and McDowell Mountain too. They have a couple of skills courses as well. So it's great for beginners and experts!
