This was such a cool hiking experience, but I'll be honest it only took me 14 minutes to summit by myself... It'll get your heart rate going with some of the tall steps and steeper inclines, but for a physically fit person it's cake. The views are great, especially if the landing airplanes. The local flora is beautiful. Definitely worth the climb.

“A” Mountain Tempe is a well-known natural landmark and historic site in the heart of Tempe. Rising about 300 feet above the surrounding area, it offers scenic views and a popular spot for outdoor activities. The mountain gets its nickname from the large painted “A” on its south face, representing Arizona State University. This iconic symbol has become a local tradition and is often repainted by students for special events. Visitors can enjoy a short but moderately steep hike to the summit, where they are rewarded with panoramic views of Tempe, the Tempe Town Lake, and the surrounding desert landscape. The preserve also features walking trails, desert vegetation, and interpretive signs that highlight the area’s cultural and geological history.
