Wowza, great place. Pre buy tickets for staggered entry. Parking lot was jam packed on our visit, aquarium was easy view all exhibits with lite crowds. If you have young kids or grandkids THIS IS THE SPOT.
Fabulous exhibits with plenty of rest areas and interactive things for the kids to do.
Starbucks in the building if you need a break about half way though.
You will need to plan a minimum 2 hours to get through everything here. We arrived at 12 and without rushing or lollygagging we took a FULL 2 hours to view everything. It's a little spendy to go here , but we did enjoy it!!!

Butterfly Wonderland is the largest indoor butterfly conservatory in America and widely regarded as one of the “Top Things To Do in Arizona”. The magnificent glass conservatory provides the ideal tropical rainforest habitat for thousands of butterflies from around the world to fly freely. Setting the stage before guests enter the conservatory is a 3D movie chronicling the amazing journey of the monarch butterfly, followed by a tour through the Emergence Gallery where guests are inches away from live chrysalis as they emerge into beautiful butterflies.
Butterfly wonderland was fun! There were so many different kinds of butterflies and they had a room with the chrysalis. I was able to watch four butterflies emerge. I spent an hour and a half just taking pictures and watching the butterflies. So very cool!
Unfortunately, their reptile area leaves much to be desired. After looking and looking and looking, I swear they only had critters in every fifth box. If they did have them in there, they're the best camouflage reptiles alive! In the fish room, one of the tanks was downright filthy! I was told that they had just cleaned the algae off the sides and within an hour it was going to be as clean as all the others but it was disappointing. The other tanks were lovely.
The gift shop was very nice! A great variety of t-shirts, stuffed animals, toys, and all the things that you look for. Overall, it was a wonderful morning! I highly recommended if you're like me and love butterflies.

I visited SMoCA last month for a modern art exhibit. Walking through the gallery, I was inspired by bold colors and new perspectives. It’s always refreshing to see how artists challenge norms.
