The Great Valley Museum (GVM) is a natural history and science museum located on the West Campus of Modesto Junior College in Modesto, California. We used to come here every couple weekends when we lived in the area, and we loved it, but our kids never cared about the exhibits. This time, now that the kids are early school-age, they really enjoyed it, and the reason they were engaged was because if the awesome staff and a scavenger hunt that involved exploring the exhibits.
Also, the native plant garden just outside is a short, pleasant walk, and the interactive outdoor dinosaur excavation sand pit is always a favorite.
