We had a great time at Kit Carson Park in Escondido! Nice open fields, lots of picnic areas with grills, some swings. Dog friendly on a leash. Big disc jockey course that a lot of teams were using, had no idea how popular of a sport it was. The Queen Califa Magic Circle was unfortunately closed when we went, it has a unique schedule like tuesdays and thursdays and the second and fourth Saturday of the month I think. Lots of restrooms. Recommend!

Beautiful, well cared for expansive park in Escondido. There is a $5 parking fee but it is definitely worth it for the amount of care taken. The park rangers are very nice and friendly. I go about every three weeks and really enjoy it. There is an amphitheater, playgrounds, picnic tables, BBQs, trails. It's great.

Grape Day Park, Escondido's oldest park, has been the center for community events and activities. Every year from 1908 to 1950, people from as far away as Los Angeles came to celebrate the annual Grape Day Harvest, a major industry in the Escondido Valley. The park continues its tradition as the center for community gatherings. What an unexpectedly cute gem of a park. We had just finished our second lunch of the day at Mesa Agricola and wanted to walk off a couple of calories. We found Grape Day Park nearby and decided to check it out. We found a luck spot for street parking only a crosswalk away. I saw a fountain of water from a distance and was happy as I love water features. As we got closer, I realized that the fountain was quite large and very soothing and pretty. A really nice surprise. The park wasn't huge but good sized. There were a couple of food trucks on the grounds. There were lots of beautiful trees, a playground, some benches and also a museum, which was unfortunately closed.on the day we went.
