Panaderia Guatemalteca La Mejor, Armando and Emilce Gelista met in 1978 at a Panaderia in Guatemala City. This was how Panaderia Guatemalteca"La Mejor" opened its doors on June 15, 1995 in Garland Tx. At that time, Armando, his wife and his uncle were the only ones working. Armando and “El Tio" made bread and Emilce made tamales and stuffed peppers. While his daughters, son and his sister worked in the store front in the afternoons and weekends.

My family and I have been to this restaurant multiple times! We are Guatemalan and genuinely love the authenticity this place brings! We have made great friends with the staff! Veronica and Audelia are especially amazing! They always have a smile and are so helpful! We came to celebrate my brother birthday this time and were greeted with a plate full of conchas and a cupcake to celebrate for the family! Veronica is an amazing manager and definitely makes this place so much better! We love coming here and will always come back! 🇬🇹🤍
