About Ballet Petit
Ballet Petit had its earliest beginnings back in 1977 at the Happy Time Nursery School in Fremont. Then in 1983, Ballet Petit first appeared in Newark as its own entity. Today, Ballet Petit enjoys a roster of about 150 students of all ages and abilities, as the studio rebuilds post-lockdown. In 1977, Artistic Director Peggy Peabody began teaching ballet as a nursery school activity which eventually evolved into what is now known as Ballet Petit.

We moved to Hayward this year, and were completely welcomed to a family-friendly community with the addition of Ballet Petit! My daughter, who is 3 years old, started her first set of classes and could not wait to go back every week. Recently, she participated in her first studio production of Sleeping Beauty, performed at Chabot College, and the pre- to post- production was the best experience my family could be involved in. The director, Peggy, is committed to flourishing the studio, and always has resources available in the studio for clothing and intense workshops. We can’t wait for the many years of engagement with Ballet Petit!
