About El Dorado Nature Center

El Dorado Nature Center is a 105-acre urban wildlife sanctuary in Long Beach, California. Located between the San Gabriel River and the 605 Freeway, it offers visitors a peaceful natural environment with two miles of dirt trails, a quarter-mile paved trail, lakes, streams, and forested habitats. The center features a Visitor Center with educational exhibits, an art gallery, and a gift shop focused on environmental themes.

A real gem in the middle of urban sprawl. This park has over two miles of easy trails to walk wooded and riparian scenery. Hard to believe this area used to be flat farmland. There are two man-made lakes connected by a curving stream with an abundance of birds and wildlife. The many trees offer welcome shade to hikers year around. I highly recommend...
