About Whispering Lakes Golf Course
The history of the 18-hole golf course on Riverside Drive between Vineyard and Archibald avenues is quite interesting. Originally, the land was purchased by Ontario in 1914 to be used as a sewer farm. However, as the years went by, the city acquired more and more land until it had 242 acres by 1959. A contract was then negotiated with Ontario Golf Inc to run the facility, and in 1960 it was renamed Whispering Lakes Ontario Public Course.
