Rays Real Pit BBQ Shack, This family-owned and operated restaurant has become a staple in Houston’s Third Ward and Riverside communities. Known for its hickory-smoked meats served with homemade sides and desserts all made fresh daily, the restaurant also serves burgers, salads, soups, po’boys, baked potatoes and fish and shrimp dinners in a casual and relaxed dining room. In 2011, Ray's opened its doors at 4529 Old Spanish Trail in South Houston less than a mile from the Medical Center, University of Houston (main campus) and Texas Southern University.

The place here was so good. My boyfriend suggested this place and Rays did not let us down. My mother had an amazing time celebrating for her birthday and LOVED the food. 5 stars for me. Also the server was on point and made sure we were well served thanks. We will be back. 😉 Only suggestion sugar free barbecue sauce would be great for those who do not or can not eat sugar.
