About Heritage Park & Museum
Located within walking distance from the San Luis Rey Mission lies Heritage Park Village and Museum. Heritage Park was created in the 1970's as a permanent and perpetual symbol of Oceanside's heritage. Heritage Park allows historic Oceanside to serve as a background to private parties, weddings, and special events. Ideally situated within Heritage Park lies the gazebo. Awesome little park with historical buildings from Oceanside. There's also a model train museum inside of a couple of the buildings. The park caretaker John is very friendly and takes great care of the park. Don't hesitate to talk to him if you see him inside the park or on his porch at the house attached to the entrance. It's very quiet and uncrowded. This is also a popular place for weddings, which happen at the gazebo.
