Copeland Architecture & Construction is a design-build firm founded in Spokane in 1985 by Gerry Copeland, an architect who was as passionate about the planet as he was about craft; a realist who understood that forward-thinking design was pointless unless it got built – and built better. More than three decades later, they’re still a little obsessive about the idea of architecture grounded in construction and informed by the rigorous standards of Passive House design.

Copeland Architecture and Construction took my husband and I from the design process through to the punch list. We were looking to build a high performance home on a difficult lot. Austin Dickey took on the challenge as our architect then guided us through the build with Jim and the Copeland team at his side. It was a challenge, but we hit 1.19 ACH on the blower door test. The house is comfortable, efficient and beautifully designed. We highly recommend Copeland.
