This is a great workout trail! It’s often steep, goes up and down over hills covered with boulders and native plants. Wild donkeys are often seen here. They like carrots! They are skittish at first but after giving them carrots, some will stay near and enjoy petting. Be careful when offering carrots, hold your hand flat, they will take it with their lips. These wild herds are very special to locals. Please only offer raw vegetables and only from trails, never from the car. Sometimes they graze near traffic and if they get fed from cars they associate cars with treats and have been hurt, killed in collisions, and no doubt wrecked a car and you don’t want that! They’re very sweet, docile creatures. The parking is limited, but nearby street parking may be found. Parking is free.
