About Sal's Gilbert Pizza
Since opening Sal’s Gilbert Pizza in 2006, Sal and Grace have brought the freshness of homemade Italian foods and the taste of New York to Gilbert. Born in Sicily, Sal grew up surrounded by fresh ingredients and homemade meals. He moved to New York in 1984 and began working in his brother’s pizzeria. Once taking over for his brother, Sal attended Culinary School. He graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education in 2003 and continued bringing the freshest ingredients and made to order dishes to his pizzeria on Steinway Street.

A solid 5 stars all around. Sal’s is our regular monthly Friday meetup for lunch once a month. Our gang always sits in the bar area. They offer a great Friday lunch special on the bar side. ALL appetizers are 50% off except chicken wings and Arancini’s. And shout it to Joe, the amazing waiter that single handily delivers top notch customer care in the bare area & never writes anything down. He is amazing! Seriously everything we’ve tried at Sal’s has been so good. The place gets busy every lunch & dinner service. The sauce for the pasta dishes is thick & flavorful. The pizza is the crowd pleasure! It’s a fun, richly rooted Italian restaurant that brings it every time. Great for families & must place to take out of town visitors.
