About Journey To The Dumpling

Journey to the Dumpling is a locally owned Chinese restaurant founded by husband-and-wife team Chris and Yvonne Tan. The couple created the restaurant to share their favorite foods in a family-friendly setting, with a particular passion for Chinese soup dumplings and traditional flavors. The first location opened in Elk Grove in 2016, growing from a hometown dream into a popular Sacramento-area restaurant.The restaurant has developed a strong local identity by making its dumplings from scratch and by creating a warm, welcoming environment for families and friends. Its story is closely connected to the Tan family’s Chinese heritage and their desire to introduce more of the foods they grew up with to the Sacramento community.
