About Philly's Best Cheesesteaks
Philly’s Best is a Southern California restaurant brand founded by Bob Levey and his wife, Andrea, both of whom had strong connections to Philadelphia. After Bob developed a lasting appreciation for authentic Philly cheesesteaks while serving in the U.S. Navy in Southern California, the couple decided to bring the traditional Philadelphia experience to the West Coast. The first Philly’s Best opened in 1992, establishing the brand around the idea of recreating the authentic taste of Philadelphia using traditional ingredients associated with the city. The founders remained committed to preserving the original character and standards of the food rather than adapting the concept to local expectations.

Outside of Philly, this is THE best place to grab a true cheesesteak sandwich I've been to. Unpretentious and straight to the point in service and sandwich prep, always perfect and on point in taste, I've never been disappointed. I never miss a chance to grab a sandwich here whenever I'm in Irvine. I personally like mine with no peppers and no onions and with a little mustard. Delicious!
