Mount Rubidoux Park is open from dawn until dusk. It covers 161 acres (0.65 km2; 0.252 sq mi) and features 3.5 miles (5.6 km) of paved roads and several dirt hiking trails. The park is closed to vehicular traffic, but improvements in 2009 boosted the number of daily walkers, joggers, and bicyclists.
Living in Riverside county and I just visited here 2 times but this is a very beautiful place to walk along the trail going up and down Mount Rubidoux. Super great exercise especially going up the hill. Once you're reaching the top you have a great view of Riverside. I truly recommend this place. You're going to love it, I guarantee you

One of my favorite places in Riverside to hike and enjoy nature. There are miles and miles of trails for hiking or mountain biking. I prefer to park at the Barton Street entrance; no parking lot but there is street parking on a dead end road that leads directly to the park entrance. On the weekends it gets "busy" so arrive early for good parking. You can also enter the park through the Nature Center's parking lot off of Central Ave. or at Sycamore Highlands Park (street parking). There are no public restrooms and trashcans are only located at the main entrances. There is a small creek that runs through the park which can offer some good bird watching opportunities. I mainly come here to hike and for wildlife/nature and landscape photography. Right now the wild blooms cover the entire park. An amazing variety of gorgeous flowers. Coyotes are usual present as well, but I've never encountered any that have been aggressive. However, they do sometimes travel in packs through the park. Be prepared to share the trails with mountain bikers. While not a huge problem, you may run into a few homeless people living in the park. On hot days, plan accordingly and bring lots of water. There is very little shade throughout the park.

This is a great workout trail! It’s often steep, goes up and down over hills covered with boulders and native plants. Wild donkeys are often seen here. They like carrots! They are skittish at first but after giving them carrots, some will stay near and enjoy petting. Be careful when offering carrots, hold your hand flat, they will take it with their lips. These wild herds are very special to locals. Please only offer raw vegetables and only from trails, never from the car. Sometimes they graze near traffic and if they get fed from cars they associate cars with treats and have been hurt, killed in collisions, and no doubt wrecked a car and you don’t want that! They’re very sweet, docile creatures.
The parking is limited, but nearby street parking may be found. Parking is free.
