Sweet lord, I need to stop coming here so often. Everything I’ve had is absolutely delicious. Absolutely the closest thing I’ve had outside of Mexico City to food from CDMX. The Tlacoyos, Huaraches, Quesadillas have been phenomenal.

The Mexican Restaurant & Bar is a Hayward restaurant built around a passion for traditional Mexican cuisine and the rich cultural heritage of Mexico. Its culinary identity draws inspiration from family recipes and the vibrant street-food traditions of Mexico, with an emphasis on bold flavors and colorful ingredients. The restaurant was founded by Alejandro Gamarra, whose career in Hayward's restaurant industry began in 1993. His experience started with a taco truck before he opened his first brick-and-mortar restaurant, Metro Taquero, in 2004. His continued connection to Mexican food and the Hayward community eventually led to the creation of The Mexican Restaurant & Bar.

Passed by this spot one too many times. So I decided to step in and see what the food was hitting for. I must say, I was impressed. Service was grade A. The food was good. The atmosphere in general was pleasant. I wll go again to try different items.
